Example Spiros app

Spirals Clock Live Wallpaper

Introduction
The Spiros-app for Android is a light live wallpaper app, which displays the current time by 2 or 3 spiral-shaped hands. You can set different options to get a nice live wallpaper. In addition to the default Spiros-mode, this live wallpaper offers also the Triros-mode, where the hands are displayed as different lines that make triangular shapes, which also gives a very nice but diffused view of the current time. The optional banner shows your battery level and temperature (in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit). To avoid confusion (which may be possible ;-), the digital time is also shown. In addition, you can choose to display your daily number of 'look apps' to control your phonephilia.

Installation
After downloading the Spiros-app (on your mobile), you have to install the app as a live wallpaper via long-pressing on an empty space of your home screen. You cannot find the Spiros-app in your regular app directory as it will be downloaded in an Android system directory reserved for live wallpapers. If you have any problems with setting the wallpaper, use a special wallpaper picking app, such as Google Wallpaper.

You can download the app via the download-page. Since July 2024, the app is no longer available via Google Play.

PS Spiros is also available as classic Windows screensaver (it was the original software implementation of the idea!).
